Who is responsible for your information?

What information may be collected?

This can include your name, contact details, service address or access instructions, information about your dog or other pet, booking details, relevant behaviour or medical information you choose to provide, emergency contact details, payment records and messages exchanged about the service.

Why is it collected and how is it used?

Information is used to answer enquiries, arrange meet-and-greets and bookings, provide walks or visits safely, communicate with you, keep appropriate business records and deal with emergencies or legal obligations. Depending on the situation, the lawful basis may be taking steps before or performing a contract, legitimate interests in running the service safely, a legal obligation, or your consent where appropriate.

Who might it be shared with?

Information is not sold. It may be shared only where needed to provide or protect the service, for example with a veterinary practice in an emergency, professional advisers, payment or communications providers you choose to use, or authorities where there is a legal requirement. WhatsApp and email are provided by third-party services and their own privacy terms also apply.

How long is it kept?

Enquiry information that does not lead to a booking will normally be kept only for as long as reasonably useful for the enquiry. Customer, payment and booking records may be retained for longer where needed for tax, accounting, insurance, dispute or legal purposes. Home access details and pet-care notes are kept only while needed for the service and reviewed when arrangements change.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, and in some cases to receive a copy in a portable format or withdraw consent. You can contact Whispering Walks using the email above. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your information is handled.
