Dog walks around Higginson Park and the River Thames

Higginson Park, often simply called Marlow Park, is one of Olivia's favourite places to walk in Marlow. Its open green space, mature trees and riverside setting make it a useful starting point for one-to-one walks that can be adapted to different dogs.

For a dog that enjoys a gentler hour, more time can be spent around the flatter park paths and open areas. For dogs that enjoy covering more ground, the route can continue onto the Thames Path for a longer riverside walk.

🌳

Higginson Park

A flexible option for calmer or flatter walks, with open green space and riverside paths that make it easy to adjust the pace to the individual dog.

🐾

The Thames Path

The riverside trail gives energetic dogs the chance to cover more ground while still enjoying a varied route with plenty of natural smells and scenery.

🌿

Gossmore & riverside links

Riverside paths around Gossmore can connect towards Marlow town centre and neighbouring green spaces, giving another option when Olivia wants to vary the route.

🌱

Gentler Marlow walks

Older dogs, dogs recovering from injury or those that simply prefer a slower pace can have a flatter, more measured walk rather than being expected to keep up with a group.

River conditions matter: sections of the Thames Path can become very wet, muddy or flooded when river levels are high. Olivia will always choose an alternative route when a riverside path is not suitable or safe.

A walk built around your dog

Whispering Walks is intentionally different from a traditional group dog-walking service. Your dog is not collected to become one of several unrelated dogs in a pack. The hour belongs to them.

That can be particularly useful for nervous or anxious dogs, dogs that find groups overwhelming, reactive dogs that require thoughtful management, older dogs that need their own pace, or owners who simply prefer their dog to receive individual attention.

An energetic dog may enjoy a longer stretch along the Thames Path. An older dog may be happier taking a slower loop through Higginson Park. The route is adapted to the dog rather than the dog being expected to fit the route.

Free meet & greet before regular walks

Every new regular dog starts with a free initial meet & greet. This gives Olivia time to meet your dog, understand their routine, discuss behaviour and triggers, learn about any medical or mobility requirements and talk through access arrangements before the first regular walk.

Olivia has years of hands-on experience caring for dogs through pet sitting and doggy daycare. She is Enhanced DBS checked, fully insured with Protectivity and Canine First Aid trained.

Marlow dog walking FAQs

Where might my dog be walked in Marlow?

Routes are chosen around the individual dog and the conditions on the day. Higginson Park, the Thames Path and nearby riverside green spaces are among the main local options Olivia enjoys using.

What happens if the Thames Path is flooded or very muddy?

Olivia will choose an alternative walk. Riverside routes are never used simply because they were originally planned if conditions make them unsuitable or unsafe.

Do you walk nervous or reactive dogs?

Yes. One-to-one walking can suit dogs that need more space or a calmer approach. Olivia will discuss your dog's behaviour, triggers and needs during the free meet & greet.

Do you let dogs off lead?

Only where it is appropriate, safe and specifically agreed with the owner. There is never an automatic assumption that a dog will be let off lead.

Does my dog really get 60 minutes of walking?

Yes. The regular and ad-hoc prices are based on 60 minutes of actual walking time rather than including collection and return within the hour.

Do you offer a meet & greet?

Yes. Every new regular dog can have a free initial meet & greet before walks begin.

How does the GPS report work?

Every completed walk includes a GPS walk report showing the route, duration and distance, plus a personal update and photo where possible.
